Etwas, was mir ohne mein Besuch im Mini-Israel, wo mir das Modell der Synagoge aufgefallen war, eventuell verborgen geblieben wäre, ist die „Hechal Yehuda Synagoge“, die auch unter dem Namen „Recanati“ oder „Muschel Synagoge“ bekannt ist. Dabei liegt sie nur unweit meines derzeitigen Apartments. Wie man auf dem Fotos hoffentlich erkennt, ist das Design des Gebäudes von den Muscheln, die man am Ufer der griechischen Stadt Thessaloniki findet, inspiriert. Dies ist die Heimatstadt der Familie Recanati, die das Geld für die Synagoge spendete, und des Architekten der Synagoge Yitzhak Toledano.

Something that might have been hidden from me without my visit to Mini-Israel, where I saw the model of the synagogue, is the „Hechal Yehuda Synagogue“, also known as „Recanati“ or „Seashell Synagogue“. It is located not far from my current apartment. As you can hopefully see in the photos, the design of the building is inspired by the seashells found on the shores of the Greek city of Thessaloniki. This is the hometown of the Recanati family, who donated the money for the synagogue, and the architect of the synagogue Yitzhak Toledano.
